 2010 Exemplary Award Application

FAQs

What is the purpose for listing a Nominating Agency/Organization? The purpose is so a candidate program can demonstrate an agency or organization in a leadership position is able to “vouch” for its application. Examples of a nominating agency or organization are: SSA (single state authority), parent or umbrella organization, Senior Level Officer or Military, members from CADCA or local Alcohol and Drug Service Departments, to name a few. If you want to make sure the nominating agency you list fulfills the criteria please feel free to call us at the NASADAD office in Washington, DC (202) 293-0090 and ask for Alan or Matthew.

Should candidate applicants list more than one Nominating Agency/Organization? No, only one is required.

Can an agency or organization nominate more than one program? Yes.

How is the Exemplary Award different from the CADCA Award? Can a program apply for both? The CADCA award is similar, with a few distinctions; the Exemplary Award invites coalitions to apply but we also open the process up to individual agencies, organizations, programs, practices and policies. Candidate applications can apply for both awards.

How many applications are you expecting this year? Between 40-60.

How many applications win the Exemplary Award? Between 2-4.

Can a program submit an application if they won the Exemplary Award in the past? A program can not submit an application if they won the Exemplary Award within the last 3-years, (2007-2009). Anytime before 2007, then yes, please apply.

Is there a limit to how many times a program can apply if they have not won an Exemplary Award in the past? There is no limit, and we encourage programs to re-apply as often the winners include a program that had submitted an application more than once.

Are you expecting a formal, logic model with the strategic plan? No, a narrative description is fine.

Anything else we should know before submitting an application?

1- Have somebody proof read the application before sending it in.

2- Answer or address every question.
